Edward Architecture is honored to have won the ‘RISE’ 2017 Design, Innovation & Creativity Award, for our Doncaster Workpods hosted by Leeds Beckett University.
The awards celebrate research, innovation, sustainability and enterprise and the winners were announced by the School of Built Environment and Engineering.
The 41 sustainable workpods were built on a vacant site beside the Robin Hood Airport in Doncaster and provided flexible open-plan office space over 2 floors.
Each eco-pod strived to achieve a BREEAM ‘very good’ rating through passive solar design solutions which integrate natural ventlation, and the use of rainwater harvesting and recycling.
The Workpods were submitted by Henry Boot Construction and looked to be overjoyed to receive the award, presented by Gaynor Barnes from ITV Calendar at the Marriott Hotel in Leeds.
